Sinopsis

Condición del ejemplar: Very Good. After the death of her beloved sister, Eva Ward is at a loss. Unsure where else to turn, she returns to Trelowarth, the house on the Cornish coast where the two of them spent the happiest summers of their childhood, hoping to find a place to scatter her sister’s ashes and perhaps some peace for herself. Welcomed back by old family friends who are struggling to keep the estate and its gardens afloat, Eva begins to settle into the familiar rhythms of the house. But Trelowarth holds more than memories. Without warning, she finds herself slipping back in time to the early eighteenth century, into the same house as it was in 1715, a dangerous era of smugglers, rebels and Jacobite plots to restore the exiled Stuart king. There she meets Daniel Butler, a man caught up in those intrigues, and feels a connection unlike anything she has known. As she moves between past and present, Eva must decide where she truly belongs, and what she is willing to risk for love. Atmospheric, romantic and beautifully written, The Rose Garden showcases Susanna Kearsley’s gift for blending history, mystery and time-slip romance in a richly evoked setting.
