Sinopsis

Condición del ejemplar: Good. Kira has always been different. Born with a twisted leg in a harsh village where the weak are cast out, she survived only because of her mother’s determination. Now her mother has died, and Kira, orphaned and alone, must face the village’s ruling Council of Guardians, who could easily decide she is of no use. Instead, the Guardians recognize her extraordinary gift for embroidery. They spare her life and bring her to live in the grand Council Edifice, where she is given a vital task: to restore the elaborate robe worn each year by the Singer, who performs the ancient song that tells the history of their world. Kira’s new life is comfortable and full of privileges, and she befriends Thomas, a young woodcarver, and Jo, a little girl destined to become a singer. But as she works, Kira begins to sense that something is wrong, and to uncover dark truths about her village, its past and the plans the Guardians have for its future. The second book in Lois Lowry’s Giver Quartet, Gathering Blue is a powerful companion to the Newbery Medal-winning The Giver, exploring creativity, courage and the power of art to imagine a better world. Thoughtful and suspenseful, it is perfect for middle-grade and young adult readers alike.
